Groundbreaking for the Lindon Utah Temple was carried out on Saturday, April 23, 2022. The meeting portion of the event was held in a nearby meetinghouse where Elder Kevin W. Pearson, president of the Utah Area, presided and conducted.

At a Lindon City Planning Commission meeting held on Tuesday, July 13, a conditional use permit, minor subdivision, and site plan for the Lindon Utah Temple were unanimously approved.
Plans call for a three-story temple of approximately 81,000 square feet. Project leaders will immediately begin working with city officials to coordinate planning for the temple.
A field by Oak Canyon Junior High, located near the intersection of 800 East and Center Street in Lindon, will be the location of the Lindon Utah Temple.
President Russell M. Nelson announced plans for a Lindon Utah Temple—the seventh in Utah County. Lindon is a small city of approximately 11,000 people located immediately north of Orem and south of Pleasant Grove in Utah Valley.
